The CEO Netweavers vision is to transform business and enrich lives through Servant Leadership. This means supporting Servant Leader CEOs in building cultures of trust and engagement like the L5 leaders profiled by Jim Collins in his book Good to Great. It also means exhibiting through our actions in the greater business community the importance of relationships and of giving freely to others, including the least fortunate in our society.
CEO Netweavers is a non-profit organization of Servant Leader CEOs and their trusted professional service advisors. It is a peer-to-peer support organization that promotes Servant Leadership. Members Netweave, which means they freely share relationships, experience, and skills among themselves and their communities without expectation of anything in return.
Activities center on demonstrating principles of Servant Leadership and relationship building, as well as communication, brand building, education, community outreach and learning.
CEO Netweavers was started in August of 2001 in Dallas, Texas. In five years, the Dallas/Fort Worth organization has grown to nearly 300 active members with over 150 CEOs who are lifelong members.
CEO Netweavers is a support community for business leaders. We find that by helping others we enhance our careers. We seek to be Servant Leaders and executives who make a difference.
We have always been and continue to be a group of executives who practice leadership based on service to others.
CEO Netweaver Partners are well-known executives of professional service firms who have a personal and trusted business relationship with one of the CEO Netweavers. CEO Netweaver Partners are crucial to the success of the CEO Netweavers organization. Like CEO Netweavers, CEO Netweaver Partners place a very high value on trust-based relationships, and work diligently to guard and preserve that trust. They are valued members of the CEO Netweaver community.
CEO Netweavers are the most senior officers in for-profit corporations, divisions, subsidiaries, or affiliates; business-related firms or entities; and non-profit organizations. They are leaders who make sure that other people’s highest priorities are served first.
Servant Leader CEOs and service providers are hard-working executives who lead by serving others. They follow the principles described by Robert Greenleaf in The Servant As Leader. They aspire to be L5 Leaders as described by Jim Collins in Good to Great.
There are two main groups who work together, Netweaver Partners and CEO Netweavers. In addition there are a number of special interest groups and administrative committees, such as the CEO Netweavers Operating Committee, who volunteer to help with administrative responsibilities.
We build relationships by sharing our trusted contacts, experience, and knowledge to help others in their careers and lives.
Netweaving is a unique way of building relationships. We believe that the more we give to others the stronger our relationships and organization become. We are interested in others’ needs over our own. Netweaving shares relationships for the benefit of others without expectation of personal gain. Founded upon person-to-person connections, Netweaving addresses needs, problems, and opportunities in community, business, and personal lives.
Netweaving is different from networking, where the objective typically is to further one’s career interests. Instead, we offer our skills, experience, and relationships freely without expecting anything in return. CEO Netweavers grow by strategically connecting people and resources to each other, which benefits everyone involved, as well as the greater community.
The concept of giving first is at the core of how we practice Servant Leadership. It means sharing skills, experiences, and relationships without expecting anything in return.
An important tenet of CEO Netweavers is to add value to our relationships and referrals.
We are always interested in adding members who value Servant Leadership and Netweaving. There is an extensive application process to ensure that new members understand and can support the organization and its values. Membership is by referral only.
